And the winner is…

2009 July 15
by Ben

Well, this is it… After weeks (months) of voting, it has come down to one final design. Read on to see what design got the most votes, and when it will be available!

By a landslide vote of 58%,  the viewer’s choice goes to:

FRONT

SHIRT - FRONT

BACK

SHIRT - BACK

This design will be printed by the end of July and available EXCLUSIVELY to newsletter members only! So if you’ve been receiving regular updates to this all along, then you will receive a special link where you can order this shirt once it becomes available. Not only will you have a chance to get something you helped create, but you will be one of the lucky few who own it! Again, only members of the newsletter will receive this special link at it will not be available to the public.

I do want to mention that because it is a front and back design, the shirt will cost more than our regular shirts. However, I am doing everything I can to keep the increase minimal so that everyone has a chance to get this awesome design.

Thanks again to all of you who voted and posted your comments. I’m flattered and humbled by the response and I’ll definitely be doing something like this again. Thanks again and enjoy the shirt!

I’m glad to see that the text vs no text debate was able to be solved with a nice compromise from both sides. i was on the no text bandwagon, but on the back it looks great. i cannot wait to buy my shirt!!! thanks!

I just want to say that this was a great experience. Numerous times throughout the whole thing, the choice I voted for didn’t get picked. But it was still a lot of fun to be involved in the whole process and see it all come together.

    Thanks, Ben.

LOL @ the ridiculous text. Ruins the shirt. The art is very nice though.

oh you know I will still buy one even with the text. I just won’t wear to work and I will always face my kids and never turn my back on them. I do that anyways;)

Nice. I had orginally voted for the text on the front, but have to admit, I like it better on the back. I’ll be buying it for sure!

I knew the shirt would cost more which is why I voted for the text on the front. No matter, the shirt looks awesome and this experience was great.

    NICE!
Not the initial design I voted for, but definitely everything I could have wanted in this design: color, text placement, etc.

    Can’t wait to sport one!

Keep up the great work Ben!

great shirt. loved that there was a fair compromise here. i myself like the text included in these shirts (unless its an icon’s headshot) because i think it helps other people recognize it. i could be wrong. its a funny/classic/iconic line anyway.

  17. July 15, 2009

Glad we got the text ont he back as a good compromise for everyone! I can’t wait!

Thats fantastic, that shirt really pops. Looks really good and Im glad as well that the comprimise of the graphic on the front and text on the back made it. Realy is top notch.

i have to agree with justine, i like the compromise of the text. i, too, voted against it, but now that i look at the final, it’s cool on the back. and i didn’t realize this was an EXCLUSIVE shirt, so more kudos to you, ben, for doin’ this!!!

    can’t wait to order mine!!!

Thanks for making this a democratic process, but I personally don’t like shirts with images or text on the back, so I probably won’t be buying this one. Hopefully you sell a ton of them and keep going with other great ones.

  26. July 15, 2009

Looks great! A nice compromise on your part to include a back text print as a choice. It is understandable that a two-sided shirt will cost a bit more but we all know that you will do everything you can to keep the cost as low as possible for us. Personally, I would like to see the two-sided shirts added to your inventory every once and a while Ben!

I hope I can find a job soon. Is any one in South east Michigan hiring? I want to get two of these!!!!

Hey Ben, I’m really happy with the results of the poll. I can’t wait to get my hands on this design but there’s a problem. I still don’t think I’m receiving the newsletter updates on my email. We spoke about this at Monster-Mania in CT, but lately I still don’t think I’ve been getting the updates. Can you please check on this again because I’d hate to miss out on this awesome design. Thanks in advance man and keep up the great work!

yes and good point about the exclusivity — i hope you will be doing the same with all votes. after all that voting and re-voting it makes it that much cooler knowing that we will be the only ones allowed to buy. very cool. indeed.

I agree. The experience of voting on each ot the stages was really fun. I hope you continue to do it this way. It was very enjoyable!

  47. July 15, 2009

Gotta say I think it’s a shame the design that won was the one that won. I could’ve worn the shirt if there’d been no text, but with the text I can’t wear it where I work because of the language. Too bad, but it’s a good shirt! I wear all my other FRIGHT RAGS shirts at work. A little blood/gore is OK, but swear words are verboten at my place of employment.

  48. July 15, 2009

Ben – have you ever considered making a no-text version available for a little less?

  49. July 15, 2009

Oh, and it’s an AWESOME shirt, btw – I just wanted to wear it to work! :)

So hopefully I’ll be getting this. Money is REALLY tight right now. I wasn’t in the “text” camp but I do like it across the back. I love the voting process, even with all the disagreements it went pretty smoothly. Keep it up!
