Meet The Team
When I first started FRIGHT-RAGS, I did everything (except the printing) on my own…the designs, the website, the logo, the packing of orders, the emails…everything. And that’s the way it continued for a few years as the company started to take shape. After all, I was the only person that knew the ins and outs of what was going on…and the cheapest labor I could afford
These days, it’s a different story…I work with many different artists to realize my vision, and various printers that keep our shelves stocked with shirts. I even have my brothers help me out at shows and my mom (yes, my very own mother) helps fold all the shirts. And while I still do alot on my own, many of the day-today activities are now handled by two specific people that work closely with me. So, I thought I would introduce them to you and let them share some of their facts about themselves. So keep reading to find out who makes up “TEAM FRIGHT-RAGS”!
All I can say is that FRIGHT-RAGS would not be what it is today without them, and everyone else that has helped along the way. For that I am truly grateful and cannot thank them enough.
TIM KILMER
Working with Tim was, lets just say, inevitable. We’ve been friends for over 20 years now. It all started on a warm summer day back in 1989… Tim had just moved into the neighborhood and after finding out that a mutual friend of ours wasn’t home one day to hang out, I just turned to him and said “Hey, wanna go to my house and watch Halloween 4? It just came out on VHS!”. The rest, as they say, is history… 20+ years and hundreds of horror films later, we’re now working together…go figure. Tim came on about a year and a half ago to help me fill orders on a daily basis. As luck would have it, he was in-between jobs and I was getting bogged down with orders and couldn’t fill them all myself. So I asked him to come over a couple days a week to help pack the shirts and send them out. Today, he manages our inventory and handles every order that comes through the site… So the next package from Fright-Rags, you know exactly who packed it.

TOP FIVE HORROR MOVIES
1. Halloween (saw it for the first time when I was seven, loved it).
2. Friday the 13th Part 4 (one of my favorite kill scenes is Jason breaking through the window and throwing the chick onto the car below).
3. Dracula Has Risen From the Grave (Hammer Film with Christopher Lee)
4. Pet Sematary
5. Halloween 2
PRIZED POSSESSION
I am very proud of my comic book collection which contains a crapload of books from the 1980′s (Amazing Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hulk, etc). Ben and I spent a lot of our youth riding our bikes up to the local comic shop and filling out our collections.
If I could meet Stephen King, I would die an extremely happy man. I read Cujo when I was ten and it scared the piss outta me. After that, I pretty much devoured anything written by him. Salem’s Lot is probably my favorite King book. I haven’t read much of his newer stuff because it’s all the same (guy gets hit by a car, plot thickens with psychic kids, flatulent aliens, and/or cars that take on a life of their own, run over the protagonist again, etc. etc). I’m sorry Mr. King got his ass “runned over” but, my God, man, give it a rest.
Kristy is the newest member of the team, joining us just a few months ago. I met her through a mutual friend last year and since then we’ve become good friends. Being the outgoing, promoting type, she was always quick to spread the word on the shirts, and has been a huge force in getting us publicity locally. This past March she surprised me even more by hanging out at our table at a convention and ended up selling more shirts than all of us combined… What can I say…she’s a powerhouse. As the months progressed, she began taking a more active role in the business and is now handling all customer service emails. I still receive them myself, but chances are if you email service@fright-rags.com, she’ll be the one answering your email. And you know those surprise sticker packs you find in with your shirts? Since she’s joined the team, she’s been spending countless hours making them, in between updating the Fright Rags MySpace site and updating her own Facebook (she’s a serial status updater).

HORROR CELEB I’M DYING TO MEET?
-Sam Raimi is my hero, and I will probably be speechless if I ever do actually meet him. But, I would really love to meet Thom Mathews. He’s such a great actor, and I’ve heard he’s a really nice guy. Fingers crossed he makes it to the East Coast at some point!
RANDOM FACTS
-A lot of people(myself included), find it interesting that I can watch Horror movies all day, every day and not be phased, but can’t stand the sight of my own blood.
-I’m always wearing a headband. If you see me without one, I’m obviously having an off day.
-I have been a dj at the greatest radio station in the universe(90.5fm,WBER) for 8 years now. If you’re not in Rochester, you can tune in online www.wber.org. I’ve been nominated as Sexiest Female Radio Voice, but ultimately won Radio Host of the Year in 2008 (which is arguably the better title)
-The Tarman zombie still freaks me out, I have issues with skeletons with big vacant eyeballs. I’m also deathly afraid of having my achilles tendon cut a la Pet Sematary/Hostel. I’m shuddering right now just thinking about it.
-Ben and I both find the face that Tim makes while he’s sleeping hilarious. I am going to try very hard to capture it on film and show all of you.

I had the pleasure of coming back to my old hometown of Rochester (Webster native) and met Tim who was there when I came in to buy two shirts. I get compliments all the time about my “Wolfman’s Got Nards” shirt and tell people to order from you guys. And let me just say I met Stephen King once in Chicago when the novel Bag of Bones came out. He was signing books but hardly saying much to everyone but was polite. I came to him wearing a Hills Have Eyes t-shirt and he said, “Nice shirt man.” I stuck my hand out and thanked him for scaring the shit out of me all these years. Very cooly he said, “Call on me anytime.” Just wanted to share that story.
always nice to see the faces behind the operations…very cool you guys are friends too. Awesome!
Thanx for puttin many cool stuff in the packages Tim “kill”mer.
And Miss Jett! Thanx for making the cool packages Tim puts in the cool packages!

Sounds like a very fun bunch a people there. They do good work.Nice to meet them.
Welcome Tim and Kristy. Just wanted to say hello and thank you for all your hard work with the business and helping Ben. He is such a class act, nowadays it’s hard to find a job you enjoy and a nice boss to boot. Thanks also for the goodies in all the merchandise we have purchased.
Thanks, you two!
It was cool to read those bios, too. It’s becoming more and more obvious that horror fans are the coolest people on Earth.
PS – I love those stickers and was wondering who was putting those in. I’ve got about five of them adorning my laptop. There’s some free advertising for ya
You guys are awesome!
Tim: Thanks for packing the bonus Creepshow sticker (on my DVD shelf) and magnet (on my fridge) with my order.
Kristy: Thanks for making the stickers! I can watch just about any gross-out horror film you can throw at me without issue, but I can’t take the site of my own blood either. Not sure if you’ve seen it or not (if you haven’t check it out, it’s amazing), but ‘Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance’ has a pretty nasty Achilles tendon slicing scene… it totally made me cringe.
So is the photo of Kristy from an off day? I don’t see a headband.
Yea thanks for the Sticker, Card, Magnet and piece of candy. lol i look forward to them as much as i do the T shirt. I’m filling my Refrigerator door up with the Magnets. Also everytime i have sent a email in I have got an awesome response. When you do business with Fright Rags you know your doing business with people that care about your order’s and any question you might have about it.
