To Print, or Not To Print?

2010 May 25
by Ben

I’ll keep this short and sweet. Take a look at the designs below and let me know if you think…

01 - KILLDOZER

02 - BOGGY CREEK

So, what’s the verdict? Should I print them? Both? Neither? You decide…

Which Ones Should I Print?

OMG both!!!! i haven’t seen either, but as the post-ers have mentioned, guess i’ll have to!!

what i like about them is that they are NOT like all the other FR designs, but i think they would make a great addition. definitely get this artist onboard for further designs!!

i’ll definitely order one of each!!

wasn’t Killdozer mentioned by Conan OBrien when he still had the Tonight Show? go team coco!!!

For the love of all that is holy (or unholy), you NEED to print that Killdozer shirt! That late night movie was a staple of my youth. I think the design on that shirt really jumps out at you. Instant buy.

don’t make these shirts they aren’t that good and they will only postpone you from making something great . If you had to ask us ben, then you were not sure in the first place.

I’d die for a Killdozer shirt. Well, hopefully not literally, because the only use for it would to be buried wearing it. But anyway, Killdozer was a staple of my youth, my brother and I watched it many a time on late night TV. So please print it, now that I’ve seen the design, I need to have it!

I take it you have some costs involved here.
I’d say print both, but i suppose – if put against a wall – i’d have to go with the killdozer.
And you’d sit with the costs of the other one that may not sell all that good.
    I hope i’m wrong

    KILLDOZER! KILLDOZER!

Seriously, I know I vowed to never buy another shirt from you guys again after you jacked up your prices, but if you start selling that KILLDOZER shirt, I will absolutely, positively buy it immediately!

The graphics are amazing. Even if people don’t know the movies they are visually compelling. They should be produced.

Love the Boggy Creek design! I have to have it so you have to make the shirt. Its really that simple Ben!! :) Now,where’s that Creature From Black Lake shirt Ive been hoping for.

  34. May 26, 2010

Those are awesome! But you totally should print some zombie shirts. Like the original Zombie movies. :)

I like that they look different from the other Fright-Rags designs. I would buy the Boggy Creek shirt in a second. I think it’d sell better too because Killdozer is so obscure.

@Rizzo – I see your point, but in all honestly both of these caught me offguard. Usually I have a list of ideas I go over with the designer and start that way. These were literally presented to me as completed designs. I liked that they were different and obscure…but wasn’t sure what type of demand there would be for them. That’s why I decided to ask…and I’m glad I did. And as for it keeping us from doing better designs, far from it. We’ve still got plenty of great stuff in the works…these two won’t slow us down one bit :)

And for everyone who is asking about the other new designs (teased last month), they are on the way. The first batch will be in very soon!

While both good (and classic) movies, these seem to be a frivolous waste of money that you could spend on other mind-blowing designs… Nice designs, but I wouldn’t buy them.

Like others have said, I like that these are not your typical Fright Rags “style”. Both are awesome designs and I would LOVE to have them both, but if only one could be printed I would go for Boggy Creek. I know so many people (myself and wife included) that were totally traumatized by that film as a kid and have a special place in their heart for it. Please print it!

Just one thought. Next time don’t show the art work for something like this. Hate being disappointed see such great stuff if it will NEVER BE PRINTED.

Those are both awesome. FInally non cartoon/comic book style designs. These stay TRUE to the horror genre.. Beautiful. Did the guy from slasher designs submit these by any chance Ben?

That’s the sentence I like to see Ben! ;-)

@Brandon – Yup, that’s Justin’s work. As for the comic book/cartoon style, I personally feel that many styles can crossover to horror. My main concern is to not tread old ground… I want our work to push boundaries, and means getting out of the comfort zone of what is universally accepted. Does it work all the time? No. But we’re having a blast trying different things out.

@Ben I totally understand man! You have to try different things. I am jut a huge fan of everything horror. Everything I do in a daily basis is horror, I like my stuff evil. People have different tastes and I get that. That style of artwork is how I see horror so I love those designs. That being said I do own quite a few of the other designs so my apologies if I sounded like I was complaining. I appreciate the hard work you put in to create a top notch product. Thanks again!
