Two Double Features – Two Amazing Posters!

2010 July 14
by Ben

As you may – or may not – know, this weekend Fright-Rags and The Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman House will be paying a special tribute to Tom Atkins and Fred Dekker. Friday, July 16 will be An Evening With Tom Atkins, featuring two of his classic films – The Fog and Halloween III Season of the Witch (both presented in 35mm!) Tom will be there in attendance for a Q&A after both films.

Then on Saturday, July 17 we will have An Evening With Fred Dekker featuring his most beloved films Monster Squad (35mm) and Night of the Creeps (The Director’s Cut – shown digitally). Fred will be in attendance for a Q&A after both films, also accompanied by Tom Atkins after Night of the Creeps.

Now, I understand that many of you may not be able to make it out to both – or either – of these events. After all Rochester, NY isn’t the closest city to everyone. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be a part of it… Keep reading to find out how you can get a piece of the action for yourself!

For both nights, we wanted to create something special to not only pay homage to the both Tom Atkins and Fred Dekker, but also to the films being shown, and the event itself.  The result are two posters (one for each night) that capture the essence of the films being presented each night.

These will be printed in limited quantities and available to purchase in person at the event.
However, we will be making the remaining prints  available to order on our website  Sunday, July 18.
Take a look at each poster below (and don’t forget to click each one to see a larger image). Let me know what you think!

    Holy cow! That Night of the Creeps meets Monster Squad poster is bananas. I wish Pittsburgh was closer to Rochester. Have you considered making this poster into a shirt… or even better a hoodie?

    I’d snap up one in a second.

    @Kimmy:

    Is Scott going to be there too?

    @Ben:

    Thank you so much for hosting this! In case you didn’t realize after we met at the Dryden the other week, I am super freakin’ excited for this. I grew up watching all of these films, and catching MONSTER SQUAD on HBO is easily one of my favorite childhood memories and one of the top reasons that I got into horror.

    As always, the designs look amazing, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the posters. Also, if the surprise is what I think we talked about at the theater, them we’re all in for an awesome treat.

    Keep up the amazing work, and I’ll see you guys on Friday and Saturday!

    Wow…. I am so jealous. I only live about 4 hours from Rochester, and if I was still young and sans little kids, I’d be there in a second. The Fog / Halloween III night would be incredible…. and to follow that up with Monster Squad and NotC?!?!?…. Unbelievable. Please get some video footage of the event and link it off your site… maybe tape the Q&A!?!
    Enjoy it you lucky SOBs!

    That Fog/Halloween 3 one is beyond epic

    I MUST have one of those Monster Squad/Night of the Creeps posters! Kudos to Jason Edmiston for some astonishingly great work. And its signed by Fred Dekker… that’s so awesome.

    Two incredible nights with an awesome host and two amazing guests. The experience was like the best parts of a horror convention without the crap. The Fright Rags crew is wonderful and put out two kick ass posters. Tom rocked the joint on Friday and was gracious and appreciative. Fred was equally stellar on Saturday as both (on both nights) signed anything one had (without convention charges) as well as posed for pictures. I got my Fog DVD signed by Tom on Friday and my Night Of The Creeps DVD signed by both on Saturday – Tom personalized and wrote “Thrill Me” over the text on the back and Fred signed under the title on the front. Definately going to frame both. Bought the poster on Saturday and had Tom sign by his rendering and the artist was there to sign as well. Simply the best event I’ve gone to and should make the bigger cities and Drafthouses jealous. I”ve always been proud to live in Western New York but this is bragging rights. Thanks Fright Rags…I just don’t know how you’ll top it!

    Just picked up both of the limited posters, cannot wait to have those framed and displayed!! Woohoo =D

    (posted this in the wrong comment thread.. oops)

    I’d like to shower the Fright Rags crew with praise for a second.
    First off congratulations on the sold out print. Totally deserved. It’s gorgeous and you guys rule.

    Secondly I just had an interaction today with Kristy at FR and I was utterly impressed with the level of customer service coming out of this place. Fright Rags has been the kind of company I absolutely LOVE handing my hard earned over to.
    Excellent products and outstanding service all around.
    I do hope Fright Rags jumps into the poster game with both feet. You guys would be a welcome edition to any print collector’s dried up bank account :)

    Keep up the great work

    You guys are so lucky to get to see the original 35mm prints. In the UK we have to suffer inferior HD crap! Hopefully I will be there for the next one! Those posters are awesome especially The Fog/ Halloween III designs.

    This poster creeped me out! Is this still available? And for sale?
