Ok, we’re finally at the last round of the Vote For a New Design! For those of you who haven’t been keeping up, round three saw the version without text winning out by just a single vote! Definitely a close call…but as promised, I will be continuing with the version that won the most votes. So keep reading to see what this design looks like in color, and cast your vote!
So now that the final look has been chosen, we finally have a chance to see what it will look like in glorious color. Take a look at the four options below and vote on which one you like best!

Wish it had the “Bubblegum” Line on it
This is a tough one! Though….I’m not really feelin’ #2 very much…I somehow made up my mind and voted for 4! haha They are pretty much the same colors but #4 just has that something “special”! I miss the quote on the shirt though! Boo hoo! Oh woe is me!
Still an instant-purchase! Can’t wait to see this sucker go into print!
while I like all of them. 4 in particular is those classic vintage colors personally respond to….I think version 1 is the winner. The color scheme just says “80′s john carpenter movie!”
again my compliments to the designer on this. I am so jealous.
dude, 2 & 4 were the best, but i had to go with 4, the yellow really helps the red stand out more.
Version 2 just makes this shirt look better than I thought it would, deff thinking about buying this design now !!!

Blue = night. That’s what I think. Nice design.
Yeah I thought number one was OK, but the colors muddied the details. Went with four over two because it just seems… warmer. I think it would be a better sell.

A movie w/ aliens, sunglasses, & Roddy Piper deserves version 1!
This design just keeps looking better! The blue and purple are a little garish, but the muted look of #4 really caught my eye. It reminds me of the flat, mid-budget 80s production. Great work on the shading and the gradients. I can’t wait to order one!
wow hard choice between 1 and 4 for me ben, i love the blue and the purple/pink on the 1st design, but also love the colour scheme on design 4, the colours flow same as the fright night design, i.e. creamy coloured print.
id go for design 4 ithink. but id be happy with design 1.
buti dont like the colours for design 2 and 3. they dont look right.
Gotta be 4! I like version 1, but it’s a little similar to the From Beyond shirt which I already have…
Maybe I just thought of this because of the colouring of the panels, but how cool would it be for the signs, teeth and eyes to glow in the dark?!
Is there scope to do this?

You lost my intrest when you took out the Bubble Gum line!! Definitly doesnt look anywhere near as good with out the line!
Ben, you have to go with Version #1. Even though that color palate is used in a lot of your shirts… it most definitely suits They Live as that is the color of the actual aliens in the movie, Blue and purpleish/magenta. Anyone that doesn’t understand or comprehend that has not seen the movie and shouldn’t be voting in the first place.
If I absolutely had to lose to another option… Version 4 would get my second place vote.
As much as I love this voting process… its going to be lame when certain votes can negate an otherwise instant purchase-worthy design. And I have a feeling the way this is going…. I will be unfortuantely skipping this one.
Maybe next voting session… once the actual movie is chosen… only people that are members of the site, that can answer a few trivia questions about the movie correctly, should be able to vote. Hopefully that will at least sway the voting more towards actual fans of the movies, instead of people who just like awesome graphics, pretty colors, etc.
Oh and 1 more thing… since the vote was so close, are there any plans to release 2 versions of this shirt? 1 with text and 1 without? I think its only fair being the vote was only decided by 1 vote difference.

The yellow makes #4 look too garish. The red really stands out on #2… of course, that’s what you get from a gorehound!
How about adding the bubblegum quote on the back of the shirt?
Number 4 is waaaay better than the rest! I’m going to buy two! So sweet! And THANK YOU for getting rid of the ‘wal-mart’ shirt text! Looks so much better now! Amazing…I’m getting Rowdy, Rowdy just looking at it!
it seems everyone agrees either 2 or 4 are the best and I definitely concur. I would be happy with either one and I can’t wait to buy this shirt!!!
I would have to go with #4.Just looks better and clearer than the rest.I mentioned it to some of my sci fi buddies.They will be very disappointed that the quote is gone from it.

#’s 4 and 2 are great. #2 has the B&W look as if you’re wearing the secret shades, but my vote went to #4. Now, let’s get Zornow to do a really dynamic Slumber Party Massacre shirt!!!!
I chose version two simply because WHEN HE WEARS THE GLASSES THE WORLD LOOKS GRAY. The others include colors not found in the movie.

I think the third comment from the top puts it best: Design #1 just sums up what “80′s John Carpenter movie” means. I found #2 too subdued, #3 was what this shirt would look like if a Mattel Barbie colored it (lilac anyone?), and #4 is admittedly badass but not as “They Live-y” as #1. Good stuff, Ben et al!

i would say definately the first version! the colors…OH MY GOD! thats one thing i love about your shirts are the colors! never have i seen so many good horror t shirts with fantastic colors!!
To be honest, I’m so happy with the overall design the colors don’t even matter to me! I love the shirt no matter what!
I do have a soft spot for 1 & 3 though. Whatever gets printed, it’s a definite purchase for me!
I’m so relieved the text was voted against! This is looking great. And a quick note about JoeSko’s suggestions as to the “worthiness” of voters: I understand wanting a design that feels true to a movie you care about, Joe, but requiring voters to “answer a few trivia questions about the movie” really is overkill. Someone’s preference for an unconventional artistic rendering isn’t necessarily indicative of having no knowledge or care for a movie. It’s safe to say that something we all appreciate about this site is that we’re given opportunities to purchase shirts with designs that we wouldn’t find anywhere else, so when someone votes in favor of an unexpected color scheme I’d say that’s a fair and welcome expression of appreciation for the designers’ right to take some liberties in the process of making us awesome shirts.
I’m partial to black and white personally, but if I’m going for any color then 4 is my pick.

don’t get me wrong, still a great shirt, but the text just made it badass.
I think 4 looks good… but I know from past shirts that I like how blues look in print over yellows or grays. So which is the better pallet for a web graphic… up for debate.. which would be the best shirt print.. probably 1.
I really like 4, it just seems right. I still want the bubblegum line though.
The Quote on the back idea is good. That way it doesn’t mess with the picture, but you can still please alot of people. lol.
Number 1′s colors are the best, the purple stands out really well, and it looks great. My vote for number i for sure!
Hmmm. Well I’m not sure which to vote on. I like the blue in version one but not the PINK at all.
Now I like version 2. The gray and red really stand out, but I don’t like the red on the skeleton faces. The shading on the SKELETON faces just doesn’t work the way it is on any of the designs.
Wow…so many people still want the quote. We may have to do another round of voting…maybe to decide whether it goes on the back, the front, or none at all?
After all, one vote is an extremely thin margin…
I love both Version 2 and Version 4 but I figure #4 pops just a little more.

this was a tough one…but the deciding factor for me was the color of the billboards in the background…they don’t look right in color…so i went w/version 2 which has them as their original black & white coloring.
