About Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) brought the masked killer back after the Season of the Witch experiment, introducing Jamie Lloyd—Michael's young niece played by Danielle Harris—as the new target of his obsession. The film was rushed into production in just 11 months to capitalize on the franchise's tenth anniversary, yet delivered a surprisingly effective small-town siege story. The controversial ending, showing Jamie donning a clown costume and stabbing her stepmother in a chilling echo of young Michael, was meant to launch a new direction for the series that was ultimately abandoned. Shot in Salt Lake City doubling for Haddonfield, the film revitalized the franchise and proved audiences still wanted Michael Myers.
