About Blood Diner (1987)

Jackie Kong's Blood Diner (1987) is one of the wildest horror comedies of the 1980s, following two brothers who resurrect their uncle's brain in a jar and embark on a mission to collect body parts from young women to reconstruct an ancient Lumerian goddess. Originally conceived as a sequel to Herschell Gordon Lewis's Blood Feast, the film abandons any pretense of seriousness in favor of absurdist humor, featuring a talking brain, a wrestler named "Little Jimmy Hitler," and some of the most outrageous gore gags of the decade. Director Jackie Kong was one of the few female horror directors working in the 1980s, bringing a distinctly anarchic energy to the material. The film flopped in theaters but became a beloved VHS rental staple, earning a devoted cult following that celebrates its anything-goes approach to splatter comedy.
