About Slaughter High (1986)

George Dugdale's Slaughter High (1986) follows the ultimate high school revenge fantasy, as a group of former students who viciously pranked a nerdy classmate on April Fool's Day are lured back to their condemned school for a reunion—where the scarred and deranged Marty Rantzen picks them off one by one. The film was shot in England with a cast of British actors attempting American accents with varying degrees of success, adding an unintentional layer of surrealism to the proceedings. Caroline Munro, the Bond girl from The Spy Who Loved Me, stars as one of the former bullies, bringing genuine star power to a low-budget production that features some impressively creative kills, including a death-by-acid-bath sequence. The film's Harry Manfredini score deliberately echoes his own Friday the 13th work, and the jester-masked killer has become an underappreciated icon of 1980s slasher cinema.
