Episodes like "Time Enough at Last," "To Serve Man," and "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" have become so embedded in popular culture that people reference them without knowing their source. Serling wrote or co-wrote 92 of the 156 episodes, personally narrating each installment with his distinctive cadence that has been imitated countless times since. The show attracted top talent including directors like Richard Donner and writers like Richard Matheson and Charles Beaumont, creating an anthology that remains the gold standard for the format.
